“Homelessness” means the situation in which individuals or families do not have a stable, safe, and adequate place to live. What’s the meaning of each word? “Pollution” means substances that make air, water, soil, etc. dirty, usually caused by human activity.

“Famine” means the situation in which individuals or families suffer from lack of food during a long period of time in a region. “War” means the situation in which two or more countries or groups of people fight against each other over a period of time.

“Poverty” means the situation in which individuals or families do not have a place to live, enough food and money for their needs. “Child labour ” means the situation in which children are employed in an industry or business, especially when it is illegal.

“Endangered species” means animals that are dying out because of such human activity as deforestation, pollution, illegal hunting. “Global warming” means the increase in temperature of the earth’s atmosphere that is caused by the increase of particular gases, especially carbon dioxide.

Our planet is getting hotter and hotter. This causes weather to change, sea levels to rise, ice caps to melt, and animals and plants to die. If we try, we can reduce the greenhouse gasses that we put into the atmosphere which make the Earth warmer. We can save on electricity by turning off the lights when we don’t need them. In some countries, there are just too many people to feed. It hardly rains, so crops can’t grow and animals die. In some families, everybody has to work or there won’t be enough food to eat. Governments should support these families.
