Volcano Erebus Antarctica The name "Erebus" means the darkness of the Underworld.
Erebus is the only active volcano in Antarctica, located on Ross Island in Antarctica. There is a permanent lava lake in its mouth. Antarctica
The gas streams out of the volcano contain tiny gold crystals. Every day Erebus throws 80 grams of gold into the sky : this is equal to $ 6,000 ( 600 000 rubles ).
However, microscopic metal particles fly very far away from each other. It’s impossible to collect them …nowadays!
