What factors make life more difficult for Northerners? The purpose of my work is to find out what factors and how they affect the lives of Northerners.
Climate “Polar tension syndrome” Lack of oxygen Polar day and polar night
-Climate-subantarctic. -A.t in summer- +13 C. -A.t in winter- - 11 C. -A lot of precipitation. High humidity the cold feel stronger.
- The «Syndrome of Polar tension» is the specific form of chronic stress, developing at new-comers of the northern regions as a result of influence of climatic and geographical, geophysical and geochemical environmental factors. - People feel drowsiness, tension, are in a depressed mood.
- L ow content of water vapor in the atmosphere - Lack of oxygen can lead to a number of cardiovascular diseases.
Period when the Sun does not appear over the horizon for more than 24 hours. Dec. 1- Jan.10. Northerners experience an acute shortage of sunlight, which negatively affects health.
Period when the Sun does not go below the horizon for more than 24 hours. May.22 - Jul.22. Quality of sleep worsens and its duration is shortened, etc.
Many of factors complicate life in the North. To stimulate the lives of people in the North, there are "northern allowances", which increase salaries. All this makes life in the North more attractive and interesting.
