4 I have put a hypothesis for my research that the problems of Kazakh and American teenagers are common, but the national characteristics of these countries have a certain impact on the socio-cultural aspect of their life.
Foreign experts believe that youth begins at the age of 16.This period is characterized by a mass of life-giving problems. The years of a young person's life are made up of many key issues, the main of which are the following: - preliminary choice of the future profession, which consists of life position, abilities and priority area of knowledge; - commitment to the values that determine the public consciousness, as well as interpersonal relationships; - the growth of social activity, which does not consist in a banal interest, but in the desire to take a direct part in events; - formation of a worldview on fundamental issues; - expansion of the sphere of interests, as well as vital needs, which leads to the need for more material resources; - social orientation of the individual, which implies the search for one's place in society; - search for an answer to the question about the meaning of life and the purpose of a person in it. 5
It was necessary to find American respondents for my research, so I registered on the site “Pen pals for Kids” and found several pen pals from the USA. First, I made a video about our school and the learning process, then I sent them messages with a link to the video and a request to take a survey. It was amazing for me to know that young people of my age were ready to help me with my research. They also expressed great rapture for our new school and my classmates' level of English speech. 6
