5 about surgut Surgut is the largest industrial and cultural center of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, one of the main centers of oil industry in Russia. It is called the capital of oil region and the industrial and energy heart of the North. The city is home to the largest port on the Ob River, the largest road/railway junction in the northwest Siberia, and two of the world's most powerful power plants. 6 about climate • WINTER WEAR Winter lasts for about 7 months. The average monthly temperature in January is – 22° C. In winter starting with November, people wear warm fur coats or duck-down jackets ( clothing with a fluffy lining), fur boots, fur caps with ear-flaps, scarves and mittens. • SUMMER WEAR The summer is warm. Sometimes it is very hot. The average monthly temperature in July is + 17° C.

9 about classes EDUCATIONAL PROCESS In-class learning sessions are divided into lectures, laboratory classes, practices and seminars, which are conducted in study groups according to the schedule. In addition to in-class learning the curriculum provides consultations, examinations, colloquiums, practices, course and diploma works. An independent work involves studies at home, in the library, the anatomical Museum with the purpose of doing homework, preparation for seminars and colloquia. Here are some etiquette rules, which you have to comply. • Students must be neatly dressed and wear ironed white lab coats during classes in training rooms; • It's highly recommended to avoid coming with an abundance of gold jewelry in class; • If there is a queue at the entrance door formed, remember that students should let teachers come in, and men should let women to enter; • Entering the building, men should immediately remove headdress; • Outdoor clothing must be left in a cloakroom.

15 STUDENT DOCUMENTS The student ID is the identification document for the SurSU students. The student ID is provided at the director's office of your institute. To obtain your student ID card, you must provide a 3x4 cm photo. The pass for the dormitory is given by the dormitory director after settling in. Students must provide one 3x4 cm photo. What to do if I lose my library card: If your library card is lost, it may be replaced for fee. ! IMPORTANT ! A ll foreign students, when go outside, must always keep with them the following documents: • Registration • Student card
16 ACCOMMODATION CAMPUS RULES Please always : • Keep your room and common areas neat and clean • Make a schedule of duties and responsibilities • Cook only in the designated kitchens • Invite guests only from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Please never: • Smoke (including hookahs, vapes and electronic cigarettes ) and drink alcohol • Use electrical appliances (stoves, boilers, etc.) in your room • Listen to music loudly and disturb other residents after 11:00 p.m. • Bring pets into the dormitory Relatives and friends are not allowed to live in the residence hall. If the sanitary facilities or technical equipment no longer work, please submit a maintenance request on the first floor of your dormitory. Leaving the dorm as well as in case of a temporary departure a student should notify the head of the International department and dorm supervisor 2 days before the departure. Persons who violate the rules are a subject to punishment, up to expulsion from the dorm.
