Emma’s First Camping Trip Emma had always loved adventure stories, but she had never been on a real outdoor trip before. This summer, her parents decided to take her and her younger brother, Tom, on a camping trip to the mountains. At first, Emma was excited. She imagined herself exploring the forest, swimming in a clear mountain lake, and sitting by a warm campfire. However, when they arrived at the campsite, she realized that camping was not as easy as she had expected. Setting up the tent took longer than she thought. The ground was uneven, and it was difficult to put the tent pegs into the soil. When the tent was finally up, she wanted to take a swim, but the water was freezing cold. At night, she heard strange noises outside the tent and couldn’t sleep. The next morning, her father taught her how to make a fire. At first, she struggled, but after several tries, she managed to get a small flame going. That evening, they roasted marshmallows, and Emma told stories to her brother. By the end of the trip, Emma felt proud of herself. She had learned how to start a fire, cook food outdoors, and even find her way through the forest. She realized that even though camping was difficult, it was also a lot of fun.
